Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep... More
Yeah, good morning and welcome. This is pastor lucy painter with your daily insight and we continue with protocol of his presence. It was a good introduction. Yesterday I've received all your feedback that emerges the laughter. Um the comments it's encouraging to know that you pay attention. Thank you. Uh so we said yesterday that protocol, a system of rules that explain the correct conduct and procedures to be followed informal situation. And as we're talking about the protocol of his of his presence, there was no better way to start than To start up in Sam's 100 Because there is a vast right there that talks about how we enter into his prisons. And so allow me to read psalms 100. Yeah. And we're gonna talk about it as an introduction.

A protocol of his presence sums 100. Starts by telling us shout with joy to the Lord of the Earth, shout with joy to the Lord of the other. Worship the Lord with gladness. You know, yesterday I said that as we talk about protocol, we're talking about formal situation. We are talking about addressing the Lord in the rhythm of his kingship of his ruling. This formal situation. And there's so many types of kingship, types of leadership. And one of the things I know is that our God is not addicted. He gave us the will power to choose. You choose to worship him or not to worship him. He does not enforce himself on us.

And that is why the worship is with gladness. You cannot worship him without blood Nous, you cannot worship him because you've been forced to worship him. You come before him singing with joy, acknowledge that the Lord is God. You you you you get to that place of acknowledging that he is God. You know, acknowledging this, you have searched, you've done your own research. You get to the place that it's not about what you were told as you were growing up. It's not about accepting the truth and face value, but you know it deep within and you acknowledge he is god. You you know beyond doubt he is God. He made us and we are his, this is deep acknowledging that the Lord is God, he made us.

And then you go to the next step we are his we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. And I think the writer of this son, David, he's speaking in this metaphor because he was a shepherd and he talks about the sheep of his pasture because he knows that he would do anything for his ship as a shepherd. Remember the barrels that he fought before he fought with Gloria, he was fighting to protect the ship. He fought the polls, the bear, he fought the lion to protect the ship. And he is speaking this way because he has come to realization that the Lord made us. We are his we are his people, we are the sheep of his pasture. He's talking about the protection, the love that this God can go to any length to protect us. And then now after this realization, we come now to the level of protocol, verse four is parked with a progression that is so deep about now what what is our required conduct?

We enter his gates with thanksgiving. You just don't enter his gates with complaints and like, oh things are not working out, oh you don't just banging and start talking about what you need. And uh I want this and this and that. No enter his gates with thanksgiving, go into his courts with praise, give thanks to him and praise his name for the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever and his faithfulness continues to each generation. And I'm talking about this formal situation. We are approaching the king thanksgiving as you look back and you're, they're approaching the king.

Our praise is a gift of offering that we bring to our king as we enter into his presence. And you know, it is common practice in most cultures to bring a gift when you visit. So I want us to understand our gift is the offering of our thanksgiving for all he has done. So even when you go, you've been invited for a housewarming party, you've been invited for uh whatever whatever whatever occasion you've been invited to, I believe in most cultures, it is common courtesy to go with a gift even though it's not required. I see some people carry a basket of food, a glass of uh something.

You carry something, a bag of groceries, it is common courtesy to go with a gift. And so in this formal setting over our king, our praise is a gift. We are encouraged to offer our praise through singing. We can sing because God loves music and encourages us to present through the song. That's what he's saying. Enter into his courts with praise through songs and because we have physical beings and our price should reflect in our actions. This verse is also so deep. It reflects also on how we raise our hands in our kneeling. You know, in our cultures, when you go before kings, other kings who post read uh you you Neil, I was trying to study how you pay respecting other king in kingdoms and dana states of the world.

And I found some that are really, really interesting. Others you have to really lie down and the nose is really touching the floor. Yeah. Uh so praise involves both joyful singing and humble submission. So we bless God by some million ourselves to his will. So there's this wonderful progression in this vast as we come to get to God's get and offer our gift of thanksgiving. And then we're walking to his court's singing his praise. And then as we approach is thrown, we lift up our hands in thanksgiving and praise. And finally we kneel in humble submission to his will. What a beautiful picture of worship and protocol of expresses. It is just beautiful and you know when David was right in this, they still didn't have that magnificent temple built, that was later built by so no more.

It was just made of tent and so you have no reason to say, oh I don't have time to figure out where I can get to the gates and to the courts know our God is emmanuel God with us. His presence is ever with us at all time. You can give him the proper protocol whenever you feel like it's time to worship, enter those gates without giving, enter into his courts with praise, giving praise humbly will ship you practice that today in jesus name, this is pastor lucy painter with your daily insights and this is protocol of his presence day to shalom glorious power Church is inviting you to a refresher and equipping summit.
