This is pastor lucy painter with your daily insight last week we left off where we said Unity of believers is an indispensable element of our faith and we can't afford to live as if we are not part of the same body today, we are going to continue our focus on the same as we talk about our role as representatives of christ to the world and as the closest image of the character of jesus that the world has, we are going to continue reading the prayer of jesus In John 1722 - 25, where he says and the glory which you gave me, I have given them, that they may be one even as we are one i in them and thou in me that they may be perfect in one that the world may know that you have sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me further a will, that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou has given me for thou hast loved me before the foundation of the world, All righteous Father.

The world has not known the but I have known the and this have known that thou hast sent me. What a powerful prayer. The idea Jesus is expanding here is the idea he introduces in verse 21. That is prayer for the unity of believer is for a reason that the benefit of this love spans beyond its benefit to earth, that it is supposed to communicate, to demonstrate something to the rest of the world. That there is a pattern in God's love. The love we extend towards each other is supposed to display the kind of love that God shows us. And Jesus says here that this is the same degree of love that God hurts for his son. What we display to the world is supposed to tell them what they're walking into. When we invite them to fellowship with us and in christ, we are supposed to display the pure and diluted love of God, something that displays the jesus, that God the Father sent to the world, something that's above what the world is offering.

But is this what we always display? The honest answer is no. Sometimes you wonder where and from whom we learn what we practice because it's not the love that God loves his son with. It's not the love that jesus loves us with. And this is why Jesus desire in this prayer that we aspire for more. That we may be where he is in the heavenly places that we may experience him, that we may behold his glory, because when we experience him in his totality, then we'll have something to display to the world. And I want to challenge us today to grow conscious of the fact that we are the closest image that the world hers of our Lord and what we read it, what we give each other, how we treat each other paints an image of the fellowship that we are calling people to.

And so as we make resolution for what we want to achieve this year, let this be at the center of it Now we may love each other that we may treat each other in ways that display God's love for his son, his love for us and jesus, love for earth, May we not add to the reason why people reject jesus. May we dig deeper into ourselves deeper into the depths of love for the sake of each other until the world can look at us and say, I want that I want what those people have in jesus name, shalom, this is pastor lucy painter with your daily insights and this is launching deeper Day six
