Here's the question, what's going on inside the minds of top achievers that caused them to make extraordinary breakthroughs both personally and professionally. My name is tim Sure, and I invite you to join me as we take a deep dive into the unconscious mind and discover how to transform your biggest dreams into a reality. Welcome to the how to be mesmerizing podcast. Hey everybody! Welcome to this special master class series. My name is tim Sure and I've decided that Wednesday afternoons, I'm going to take the suit and tie off, Show up casual and answer your most pressing questions about leadership or breaking bad habits or increasing the productivity And focus and motivation of your teams or for you personally. And so let me give you a quick background on who I am in case this is the first time we're meeting.

So my name's Tim Fischer and I've been studying human behavior for the last 32 years. I had a lot more hair when I started and I've been trying to figure out what the cure is for insecurity because it seems our self doubt our insecurities and our worries and fears are what sabotage our progress, our ability to earn at a higher level or to feel happy and peaceful with the success that we have created. And so because of insecurity, it causes all the problems that we complain about procrastination or fear of being a fraud or a fear of closing more sales or a fear of being able to take it to the next level, whatever it is that all comes from insecurity. And so I've been, I have my degrees in psychology and I also something that makes me a little unique is that I've been using hypnosis and neuro linguistic programming tools and any kind of peak performance technology for decades. Because I was trying to find the cure for anxiety, I was trying to find that cure for insecurity and those tools were helping me to take a deeper look into the human mind and into our unconscious mind.

And that's where I found the answer is that's why I found the cure for anxiety and insecurity and self doubt and procrastination and everything else that holds us back. So During those 26 years that I've been in private coaching practice I facilitated over 15,000 individual hypnosis sessions, 15,000 hours of one on ones just getting into people's minds, they would come to me for every problem there is they wanted to lose weight or stop smoking, they're having anxiety or panic attacks, they're having phobias, fear of flying, fear of driving over bridges, they're having auto immune challenges or they had every addiction from heroin to nicotine to sugar, to gambling, to all the others that show up. And then of course I would have a lot of business owners, a lot of entrepreneurs, a lot of VPs, a lot of directors of H. R. A lot of presidents and Ceos who were stressed out from the pressure of it all from constantly having to hit your numbers and manage all the different personality types and deal with all the conflicts and how to put out all the people fires because so much, so many of the problems that show up in the workplace or because of the problems that we had growing up and we just grew up and then we brought all those childhood conflicts into our adult work family and trying to find better technology and more sales strategies and more improved marketing and distribution methods.

They're all great when you're working with a company with a team of people but if you're not working on the psychological challenges that sabotage us then often you're solving the wrong problem. And so that's why no matter how many solutions you try to find or how many new tools or tech you keep piling on, it doesn't seem to get you the results that you're looking for or you'll go and have some growth but then it's not sustainable and you come back down again and people are like why does that keep happening? And one of the reasons is it's because we have this bucket and this bucket has a hole in the bottom of it that nobody knows about, we're not consciously aware that there's a hole in the bucket. So we pour all kinds of water into the bucket and we use all kinds of tools and vessels to fill that bucket. So you're using big glasses and jugs of water and fire hoses and every tool or strategy you use to try to fill that bucket, it doesn't work not because the tools aren't effective, but because there's a hole in the bottom of the bucket, so it's not allowing what already works to work, That makes sense.

And so no matter how much water you put in the bucket, it will continue to feel like it's not maintaining, it's not sustainable, it's not growing your level of water, it just keeps running out. You know, if your company has high turnover, you know, you can hire the best people, but if you have a leadership issue, you're having a communication breakdown. If you're having too many silos, are too many people pointing fingers, then you're going to continue to have that hole in your bucket and you're going to lose all the good people. And so we want to fix the hole in the bucket, that's the solution, but people aren't fixing the hole in the bucket, they're spending all their time focusing on what we just got to find better tech or we've just got to find better people or we've just got to, you know, and all those other programs, it just doesn't do it, right? So the goal is to fix the hole in the bucket. So I've become whole fixer I think you know, a bucket catcher, right? I've become an expert at finding the psychological beliefs and challenges that are holding people back. And this is what I've learned. If you removed one self limiting belief that somebody has about themselves and you did that with every person in your company, you would overnight exponentially skyrocket your growth, your productivity, your culture, your morale in the workplace.

It would be exceptional because it's our self limiting beliefs that hold us back more than anything else. So when I learned how to shift behavior and help people get rapid results that were long lasting in my private practice, a lot of these company executives would say because you think you could help my sales team improve their sales or do you think you could help our finance department and our sales department put pointing fingers and blaming each other, you know, telling our customers oh yeah, I'm sorry that's finance. They're always messing things up, which is a disaster. But those things happen all the time. You think you can fix that for us. And I'd be like, sure, I mean I didn't know much about corporate America or how business worked at that kind of scale with these, you know, 100,000,500 $million billion companies, but I did understand how human behavior worked. And when I got into these companies, I realize they're just big buildings full of humans and I'm like, oh, I know what to do here because I'm like a brain mechanic, you know, I know how the mind works.

And so I went ahead and and started getting rid of the beliefs, what people now these days are calling unconscious beliefs and biases, right? And I started helping people to become aware of what the real problem was. The problem with this is that when you have a hole in the bucket, like we said, we don't know the whole is there and when people have self limiting beliefs that are sabotaging how they show up every day, they don't realize those beliefs are there and you cannot fix what you're not aware of. You cannot improve what you're not aware of. We call them blind spots, you know that we call blind spots for a reason because you can't see them. It's very difficult to recognize your own blind spots. And most people in leadership positions have not really had great leadership training or they've gotten the, you know, the basic leadership training about care about others and be invested in others, but they really haven't been taught how to get inside other people's minds and find the mental malware that's sabotaging their computer programs, right? So let's use that metaphor for a second, hang on one second.

Okay, so anyway, I'm just reading a little message. This is my first stream here. I'm using Stream yard and saying it's not streaming to Lincoln. So I'll have to figure that out. But anyway, so we want to make sure that we are taking a look at the mental malware. So what is that? Well, our phones all have our computers, right? And they all have these operating systems that allow us to run the computer apps, apps are a software applications. Some of the apps on your phone are really helpful, like GPS or your calculator or your appointment. And then there's some apps that are kind of just a waste of time like flappy Bird. If you remember that if you wanted to be frustrated, just play that game. So often we also accidentally download malware malware are like computer viruses that go into your computer and wreak havoc, right? And they cause these programs that otherwise would work fine to not work properly if you've ever downloaded malware into your email program and all of a sudden your emails or haywire and everything's a mess.

Well, you know how frustrating that can be right? And so our job is to get rid of the mental malware because as human beings are mind also has an operating system and that operating system also runs apps. I call them mind apps and our mind applications are things like our beliefs, our attitude, our values, our habits, our life experiences that are all stored in the library of your mind, in your unconscious mind. And we also download mental malware. Now, mental malware are limiting beliefs that we picked up when we were kids that often. We don't even know is there. And common mental malware beliefs would be I'm not good enough, I don't want to do sales and customer service, I don't want to follow up with customers who had a bad experience because I don't want them to yell at me or I feel bad, so I'm just gonna blow them off instead of dealing with it. Mental malware is I'm afraid to go and close the sale because I don't want to come across pushy or I don't want people to think that I'm a sleazy salesperson and so I don't go for the clothes, even when it would be really good for the customer to do.

So those fears that I'm not good at public speaking, you know, I can't speak in front of groups and now it's holding me back because I have a promotion and I'm supposed to run these meetings and I'm in the bathroom vomiting because I feel like I cannot give a presentation to a group of two or more people, even if it's over zoom these are all symptoms of mental malware, procrastination, negativity, self doubt or anger creating mistrust, you know, they in the Edelman trust barometer, which was a big survey that was given to just thousands of companies in every industry across the board. And the reports were Published in Forbes magazine and they said that on average, I think this was 2019, that the study was published on average, 63% of people do not trust their boss, right? They do not trust their manager, their supervisor or their Ceo or president 63% that's very high. Two thirds of the workplace in every industry are saying, I don't trust my boss, right?

There's so much mistrust in the workplace and nobody is trying to be mistrusting, nobody is trying to send a message that you can't trust me, no one is doing any of that on purpose, but it's happening unconsciously and remember people don't leave their job, they leave their boss, right? They want the security, they want to feel valued. But especially these days if you're talking to someone who's maybe 24 years old and they have a job and they feel like they're not being valued, they're not being cared for that their leader, you know hovers over them. They call them helicopters right. If they're if they're hovering over them all the time and they're not making them feel significant, they leave right? And it's challenging to find good people these days because or hang on to them and it's almost always a leadership problem, a communication problem, a belief problem more than anything else and you can teach people how to say things and teach them all these amazing communication strategies that build trust. But if you don't upgrade the beliefs that were driving that behavior to begin with, If you don't treat the source of it and you're just trying to improve the symptoms, then it's not sustainable and it goes back to what you were doing before and then people spend a lot of money on training and they're like, well it didn't work or it wasn't worth the investment.

I have never heard that with my clients. The R. O. I. Is so strong. My clients have earned millions of millions of dollars annually from top line revenue or saving from the bottom line revenue from turnover and things like that. Uh my sales people have increased their sales by 300%. My human resource partners that I've worked with. We were able to in one company increase employee satisfaction, survey scores from 46% to 97% which was extraordinary. The testing company actually called and said, what are you doing? I mean we've never seen these high of numbers and it's because we were going to the source of what's going on. We were getting rid of the mental malware. So the number one secret to boosting focus productivity motivation. Follow through and creating raving fans, both your internal customers and your external customers. Really building powerful cultures and loyal customer bases and increasing your market share all of that, right? All the stuff that you know, we're in business to make money were also in business as leaders to grow people.

And the more you grow your people, the more your company grows exponentially and sustainably. And the reason that some companies are able to do that better than others is because they are focusing on finding the mental malware in their employees and their leaders and removing it, right? And that starts from the top down. And when that happens, it's extraordinary. The results that happened. It's like a miracle how people are able to shift how all these people that have been fighting and supervisors that have been butting heads all of a sudden are showing up in meetings and they're respectful in their communication, they're not stepping on each other, they're not cutting each other off, they're not being rude, they're not making comments that get people written up and get people fired and get people in a whole bunch of hot water or create lawsuits. I mean, there's so many negative symptoms that result from mental malware. So you might be thinking, all right, tim how do we get rid of the mental malware? Well, I'm going to give you a five step process that will help you to recognize what your mental malware is and then how to get rid of it.

Now, this is a surface level, right? If you want to go deeper and really find this, the stuff that's really influencing you at an unconscious level, then, either hire me for some coaching and I'll help you get through that, you know, we can get amazing session, amazing results in one session, right? And then of course I can help you with more sessions, but you will have a significant experience from just one session with me. You can also go to amazon and get a copy of my new book, one belief away and all the cool strategies are in that book and it's a do it yourself approach. So you can move through those experiences and clear out your own mental malware, right? So you have two different options depending on what you prefer. So here's the do it yourself approach, where you can start to do kind of an auto scan of mental malware and see where it might be showing up in your life. So start with the feeling if you're feeling stressed, if you're feeling stuck, if you're feeling like something is not working for you, if you're feeling overwhelmed, if you're feeling angry, if you're feeling you know, resentful, whatever it may be because you're not feeling the growth that you want or because you feel it's someone else's fault, which that is not the case no matter how someone else shows up, you have final say so over how you feel and what your next move is and when you adjust how you respond, it often influences how that person shows up.

So most people give their power away. I want you to realize that you have tremendous power and we just want to reconnect with it, right? Use it in a new way and you'll be amazed on how much better you feel and how quickly it happens. So start with the feeling step one out of my five step strategy, step one start with the feeling, okay, what is the feeling I'm actually having? What is the feeling? Is it stress overwhelm anger, frustration, you know, feeling sorry for myself, whatever it is, right? Start with the feeling. Then step to ask yourself what would I have to believe in order to feel this way? Remember your feelings come from what you're saying to yourself in the story you're telling yourself not from the situation, but how you're interpreting what's happening. Most people don't realize that they're even telling themselves a story. They think I'm just describing what's going on. This is just how it is, right? And but that's not accurate. The information comes in and then we give it meaning, We decide what it means and that interpretation happens so fast mostly at an unconscious level that we don't even realize we're making interpretations.

We think we're just reacting based on the situation, but we're not, there is a process that happens inside of your mind and usually the process has been conditioned from years and years of you behaving in a certain way. So if you have a belief that things always work out for you, then no matter what shows up, you'll feel more calm and resourceful. If you have a belief that nothing ever works out for you, then no matter what shows up, you'll always feel like it's not gonna last, or you know, you're suspicious of it and that will change how you take charge of the situation or the opportunity, right? So it has more to do with what you think is going to happen at an unconscious level than what actually shows up in your life. As I love to say, it doesn't matter what shows up what matters is how you show up. And so Step two is what would I have to believe in order to feel the way I'm feeling, What's the story, I'm telling myself what I have to believe, that all this is bad and I'm not going to be able to figure it out, what I have to believe, that somehow, in some way, things always go wrong for me, you know, that if there's lucky people in the world, I'm certainly not one of them, what I have to believe, that other people don't care about what they're doing and you know, I'm working with a bunch of people that just don't care, which is almost always false.

You know, that's our own limiting beliefs that sabotage us, what it is, it, that, you know, I'm not going to be smart enough to figure this out, right? Whatever it is now, this is a tough question to ask because it really messes with our ego because we want to show up strong and tough and powerful and resilient, but that emotional armor that Brennan calls brown a brown, she calls that emotional armor, that emotional armor is actually keeping the hole in the bucket, It's not healing the hole in the bucket, it's making the whole bigger, right? And and so it takes a lot of courage and guts to be able to take a look inside and say, hey, you know, what am I thinking? What am I doing inside of my brain that I wasn't aware of, that's making this problem worse, right? If I want to be part of the solution, I have to recognize that I'm probably part of the problem as well and that's okay, that's not a blame. That is an empowerment, you know, the word responsibility simply means the ability to respond. So what we do is we take that idea and we start asking ourselves what would I have to believe?

And if you ask yourself enough, it's gonna come down to some kind of fear, I have to believe that I'm not going to be able to figure it out or I'm gonna something bad is gonna happen, I might not be able to pay my bills or you know, and why not? Well, because the economy? No, what I'm really afraid of is because I may be afraid that I'm not going to be resourceful enough to figure this out, You know, that I won't know what to do and then my family is going to leave me or my people. My employees are going to think I'm a fraud. You know, and that's when we start to get to the real fear, the real fear that's causing the pressure and the stress and then step three is what could I believe? Because you can believe anything. You want, beliefs or opinions are not facts. Right? So the fact is that the world revolves around the sun. That's a fact. It's a sunny day and you say it's a beautiful day. That's an opinion. Some people like rainy days better. Some people like snowy days and dark days better. So saying that it's a beautiful day because it's sunny outside is an opinion not a fact.

So our beliefs, our opinions and whether they're supportive or destructive, there's still opinions and so you get to decide what opinions you're going to support as an adult. But I want you to know that most of the opinions that you have about yourself were formed by the time you were eight years old and they've just been reinforced ever since. So we don't want to let a child decide how we live our lives. We want to decide as adults now. So it means taking a look into our programming and figuring out what's actually there and that is the key to tremendous success, happiness, contentment, fulfillment and everything else that we work so hard to have. You know, those are the feelings that we want, a sense of power, sense of control over our lives, a sense of validation or significance, that's what we really crave, and it's just the way that we try to get it often robs us of it. So I know this might be a lot to take in, but this is exactly what's really happening and I like to get to the source of it, you know, like any driven leader, I want to get to the source of what's going on so we can improve it and get moving forward.

So that third step is alright, what could I believe that would be more empowering? That would help me to feel confident enough to start creating momentum again and then help me feel good in the moment while I'm creating that momentum, what belief would help me feel that way, right? You might think well to know that it's gonna work out and that I'm smart enough and creative enough and or collaborated enough that I can reach out to others to be able to help me figure this out, that I don't have to do it all by myself, you know, and that others are going to be there to help me and that we're going to end up taking this situation and using it and finding the creative opportunity in it. Well, now, all of a sudden I'm getting excited because I'm thinking about the creative opportunity and helping enlisting others to help me. So I don't have to do it on all on my own. And that's empowering. That's exciting. That makes me feel good, right? That's what we want. And so all of a sudden, because we've switched, we've become aware of that the holes in the bucket and now we're starting to patch that hole. Now we realize, hey, check this out. I'm finding a new solution that makes me feel more excited then step four is all right.

If I had that new belief, what's a bold move that I would make? What's a big bold move that I would make, right? Because when you're feeling confident, if you had 100% self belief, if you knew that you could only succeed if you knew that it would lead to something more amazing in your life, what big bold move would you make? Would you call up that person and call up that high value customer? Would you reach out to that networking person? Would you have that tough conversation with that employee? Would you go and offer that apology? That's been way overdue. What would be a big bold move? A big domino that would push over a whole bunch of other little dominos. Usually your bold moves are the ones that you've been putting off, You've been procrastinating on your biggest breakthroughs are hidden in the places you don't want to go and when you learn to go into those places you're going to find yourself feeling excited because oh my gosh, this is the big breakthrough and you know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. In fact going in that direction, ended up being amazing, right?

So wherever you resist, you must persist, right? So that's an opportunity to figure out where your next big bold move should happen. And then of course, once you've identified that bold move and you're feeling more motivated and having more momentum and then step five is act on it, take action on that immediately. Don't even think go do just act on it because that bold move is coming from your unconscious coming from the part of you that knows how to help you get what you want and now that you've got clear on what you want instead of focusing on what you're afraid of, you'll have the momentum and the next step for what to do to make it happen, then you just act on it and when you act on it, boom, it happens. The one belief away book that I wrote with my friend joe Vitaly Joel coined the term money love speed. Right? So if you act that you get an inspiration, a moment of inspiration and you act on it, that's when the magic happens, you know money, love speed, so does opportunity and so do miracles. So if you want to create miracles and opportunities in your life out of thin air where other people are like how are you doing this right?

You just tell them I'm using the power of my mind to create my life by design. I'm using tim sure is one belief away method and I am crushing it. So those are the five steps. Okay, So identify the feeling. What would you have to believe in order to feel that way? What would you rather believe instead? What's a bold move you can make from that new position and then take action on it. Who? It only took me 25 years to figure out that formula. And the biggest step is really identifying the biggest fear, right? Because that's the trouble people have. You can find the answer to anything if you ask the right question and step three provides the right question, but step two is the toughest because usually we identify surface fears and we don't dig down deep enough to find out what the real issue is. And so that is what sabotages people. That's why I put the strategies and the one belief away book. So you know exactly how to identify where the real mental malware is and get rid of it. And then also if you want faster results than we can do some one on one coaching or of course, you know, I've been working with high performing teams for many years and we have extraordinary outcomes and this is so different.

I don't care how many leadership programs that you may have experienced. This is a whole different approach using the one belief away method to upgrade your operating system and remove that mental malware is a completely different approach than anything people have done before. I know because I've gone into program or into companies where they prided themselves on being a employee training company. You know, we are always training, our people were always on the best places to work list. We are always taking care of our people and taking them through experiences and having book clubs and we have all our awards and everything and they would bring me in and then they'd be like, whoa, this is awesome. You're helping us find our blind spots were finding issues that we didn't even know were there, right? And then they'd end up having me work with their senior team and then their field managers and then everybody else, you know, and, and it's been amazing because there is no faster way to increase productivity to get put out those people fires or to be able to really improve your quality of life and your performance than to upgrade your beliefs about yourself about others about the work you do and the world you live in and there's so much insecurity and so much self doubt that is really the killer of dreams and the killer of profitability and the killer of cultures.
