Yeah, welcome to meditating in God's Word podcast. I am your host Darby rows of Darby Rose dot com. Thank you for joining us today for this abbreviated bible lesson. We are in the Pink book. This is book three of book four and meditating in God's Word bible study series. This is less than 20 five entitled Jacobs marriages to leah and Rachel. It is found in genesis chapter 29 versus one through 30. We're going to give you a summary followed by some commentary and there's some questions so you can discover God's word on your own. Jacob arrived in the land of Haran, he met Rachel, he met Rachel's father Laban, who was his uncle Jacob made a deal with Lebron to work for seven years for the marriage of Rachel.

But Lebron deceived Jacob labouring proposed to Jacob that he worked another seven years for the marriage of Rachel and he did because he loved her so much. Let's get into some commentary. Jacob confronted his uncle Lab in about Leo Leben treated the situation with such tradition. Lebron knew a few things about Jacob. He knew that Jacob wanted Rachel. He also knew that Jacob didn't have anywhere else to go since he was still on the run from esa Leben took advantage of his nephew and the opportunity to get years of additional work for him for free. Unlike the stellar relationship between Abraham and lot. Lebron was very deceitful, much like Jacob And he suggested seven more years of work before Jacob couldn't marry Rachel. Jacob could not be mad at his uncle deception is what landed him at his uncle's home in the first place.

Jacob could not resist, he loved Rachel. Jacob worked 14 years for Rachel. He also received another maid servant that came with Rachel. Her name was Bella Jacob learned a lesson from the master of deception. Next we have a few questions. The first question is, what was Rachel's occupation? The second question is, what time of day was it when Leben brought leah to Jacob. Remember I ask that you put the chapter and verse for these questions and that is going to wrap it up for this lesson genesis 29 vs one through 30.
