That was corny. But hey, it's me, how's everybody doing on today? My name is Clinton Petty john for the sake of the podcast, you can call me cliff and as the intro said, you are listening to the what now podcast. I want to thank you for listening. If this is your first time listening, please do not hesitate to go back and listen to our previously previously recorded episodes. It's going to give you a little backdrop on who I am and why we even started the podcast and then listen to our bonus episodes are bonus episodes are from conversations that I had on my radio show, transformation radio, where we transform lives through purposeful conversations.

But I'm gonna be sharing some of that content here on our podcast. But thank you for joining us on tonight real quick. I want to jump into the subject we're going to talk about. It is 2020 and we're about three weeks into 2020. When I'm recording this, I want to send a special shout out to my baby girl imani, that's my baby. I call her my niece because her mom is like a sister to me with really cousins. But this young lady came into my world three years ago on the 26 completely changed my thought process and y'all she thinks that I was just created for her. She tells, she tells people I'm her cliff. That's what she calls me. My cliff. Not cliff. Sometimes she calls me my cliff. So happy birthday imani I pray that you enjoy this birthday and I pray that this is the greatest year of your life. And I pray that if you listen to this years later, I want you to understand that the greatness that you were walking in right now was seen far before you were born, live your best life and don't let anybody put limits on you, including yourself.

All right? So let's get to the subject at hand tonight. It is 2020. As I said, we are three weeks into 2020. Some of you created some goals, some objectives, Some of you have some ideas of how you wanted 2020 to be. Some of you created resolutions. Some of you got gym memberships, some of you did whatever it is you, you went and you bought healthier food. You did whatever you have. I'm going to write this book this year. I'm gonna launch this business this year. I'm gonna launch this ministry this year, New year, new me. I'm getting rid of everything that doesn't look like what I desire for it to look like. We were hyped coming in, the ball dropped and as the ball dropped, we still were hyped because we already knew we're gonna hit the ground running. And let's do this thing. As I said, we're three weeks in and for some of us were already modifying our goals. We're already looking for 2021.

Were already ready to give up on this year. I even saw the post that made me laugh laugh last. That made me laugh and said my 2020 begins in february january was just a pre 2020 and I laughed about it and then I begin to think about it. I don't want anybody, um, to stop doing what you were doing or to attempt to modify your plans just because things may not appear to be going the way that you desire for them to go. You may be looking for results, your goal that you said maybe long term, but you're, you're expecting short term goal expectations or you're expecting short term goal results for a long term goal, what you have to understand this. And I talk a lot about this, I talk about momentum and I feel like in life many of us never allow anything to gain the momentum that is needed in order for us to experience the success that we desire and the success that we, you know, can identify as success in our life.

What we do is we'll try for a moment and then all of a sudden it doesn't work the way we wanted to work and we're ready to give up on it. This must be the year that we do not treat our goals, our objectives, our lives, our ministries are businesses, whatever it is that we don't even relationships, we don't treat them like that. This has to be the year where we put together a plan or not even just put together a plan. We execute a plan that will have perpetual momentum, perpetual momentum, perpetual momentum, perpetual momentum momentum pastor present. Um, and I don't want us to connect our goals to our emotions sometimes when we connect our goals to our emotions, then based upon how we feel at that moment, determines if we're going to execute what needs to be executed in order for us to experience the success that we desire for that goal or in that moment, I want us to understand that our emotions need to be subjected to us, not us subjecting to our emotions and I'm talking to myself because sometimes I am a person that finds myself subjugating to my emotions and my emotions are in it at that moment that I just don't want to do it.

That's not a good sign. That's not a good sign. We have to be emotionally intelligent, emotionally intelligent. Now here's something you're going to get mad with me, Clifford. You calling me dumb? Absolutely not. I'm not calling you dumb. I'm talking to me to we have to exercise emotional intelligence in every area of our lives, especially the areas where we where we have allowed our emotions to take charge. I want you to really look back over your life really be honest. Now and again, I always say this anytime I'm doing anything, whether it's through the transformation center, which is my faith based community, whether it's through Clifton and Pettijohn ministries, which is the personal teaching, preaching and outreach ministry of me, whether it's through my coaching services, whether it's through the radio show or the podcast, we are a safe space. You can drop your title, you can drop preconceived notions, you can drop all the things that you've been taught that you need to front and pretend on and you have the right to be you.

That's right. We want you to be you authentically who you are. We want you to be free to express who you are. That's the safe environment or the secured environment that we are. So let's be real about it. There are some areas of our lives that we have allowed our emotions to rule over instead of us ruling over our emotions. And I'm gonna tell you this to some of you have even tried to take charge over those, those areas that you allowed your emotions to rein it. However, now you've given up on that and the reason why you've given up on that because you feel, man, it's just too hard. It's just too hard. It's just too hard for me to gain access to that again or to gain access to that authority Again, it's not that it's too hard. It's simply that you need to either condition yourself or recondition yourself as it relates to your mindset concerning it. There's nothing that you cannot master. There is nothing that you cannot master. However, you have to believe that you have the ability to master it as opposed to you allowing it to master you.

Sometimes we've allowed things to master us so long that we have become subject to the authority that we have given it. The reality is it doesn't even have the authority. We actually have the authority. We have yielded our authority to it. So what are you saying? Cliff? All I'm saying is we are not going to lose momentum this year. Yes. Some things may have happened that we view as unfavorable, as unfair. As bad as the worst thing that could possibly happen in 2020. But the reality is, yes, it happened. But what are you going to do about it? What are you gonna do about it? How are you going to address it? How are you gonna face it? How are you going to take the lessons you learn from it now to continue to create the masterpiece that you originally planned to create at the beginning of the year? In the end of last year. That's what's gonna determine the results that you get.

Is you understanding? It's what makes a man. I always tell everybody I made a lot of mistakes in my life. Do you hear me? I made a lot of mistakes. I made some huge mistakes. I made some not so huge mistakes. I made some small mistakes. I saw I made mistakes that I could readily fix. I made mistakes. I had to get counsel on how to fix. I made mistakes that I felt. There was no way no how no possibility of me rebounding from. But guess what? The reality was. It wasn't that there was not a possibility of me rebounding. It was a matter of me realizing that I had the ability to rebound from this and not just rebound from it. But come out greater than I was before I went in there. Or come out more intelligent or come out more with greater wisdom because of that experience. And guess what I got to be honest with you, I wouldn't be who I am today without some of those mistakes that I made and I'll take it a step further purpose is built off of mistakes.

Now see some of y'all not gonna like that, you're not gonna like that because you keep trying to make everything play out perfectly perfectly. Purple purple. Now I can talk perfectly. You wanted to play out perfectly. The reality is without your, without the errors, without the mistakes, without the mishaps, without the falling on your face, without whatever it is, there would not be anything that resembles purpose. And the people that are looking up to you that I admire you that are watching you from afar, they just don't need to see the good side of things. They need to understand and see some of those things that you did rebound from you rebounded from. So I ain't carried you on today to understand. I don't care what has happened. I don't care what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it feels like, what it tastes like, what it may be like. You cannot stop this year. You cannot stop this year.

You can pause, catch a breath, get you a drink, recalibrate yourself, hydrate yourself, whatever it is that you have to do, replenish yourself. But after that quick polls, you need to continue on why because momentum is only gained when we continue when we keep starting and stopping and starting and stopping. The momentum has to be rebuilt up. And the reality is that many times, how many of you have seen this online? There's a picture of a man with a I think it's like a pitchfork and he's hammering and hammering, hammering and hammering at this wall. I guess he's in some type of cave. Have you ever felt like you were in a cave and you couldn't just break out? You don't see any break of light, you don't see any possibility or any hope. Have you ever found yourself position like that? So this man, he's hammering and he's hammering and hammering and he can't see the other side of things and many times we can't see the other the other side of things.

Even though we we know what our goal is. We know even those of us that have have received prophetic words or God has shown us in dreams and visions what it is that he desires for us to do and what he called it, what he's called and created us to do. Sometimes we can be so distracted by the darkness that we can't see the light on the other side. We become so fearful of the darkness that we don't see the possibility of life. So he keeps digging and digging and digging and then the picture is showing how close he's probably four or five hits ole from a break of day from seeing white shine through his darkest moment. However, he gives up and walks away and submits to the darkness Instead of realizing or even the captivity because it looked like he was caged into something. Have you ever submitted to something that you were meant to conquer? I'm not trying to preach today, but that's the reality of it.

You are one hit away from two hits away from three hits away from four hits away from your greatest breakthrough from light. Being able to shine in your darkest moments. Don't you dare put that fork down. Don't you dare stop fighting. Don't you dare stop praying. Don't you dare stop whatever it is that you do that connects you with God. That gives you that connection with who you are, whatever it is that you do that causes you uh whatever you do to execute your purpose in your vision, don't you quit now you have no time to quit. You've gained the momentum. You've built the muscle memory, you have the strength to conquer it. You have the strength to triumph. You have the strength to experience what it is that you desire to experience because some of you already said, I can't have another 2019. I can't have another 2018, I can't have another whatever. And then some of you were successful in those years, you still understand the value and the measure of success that you experience in those years.

So anything less than that in stagnation? Why? Because we learned a long time ago. If you're taking my webinars or my seminars and my workshops or you heard me speak or teach or you read my book from stagnation of transformation, visit www dot clinton Pettijohn dot com forward slash transformation and purchase the book. But if you heard me talk about about stagnation, stagnation is not that you are standing still stagnation is not that you are not producing, stagnation is producing at A level or in a dimension that is disrespectful to the purpose that the purpose that is in your life are disrespectful to your creator because he's the one that created you and put that investment inside of you. So you've been successful in past years, but you know, in order to have success this year, you got to level up, there's got to be some leveling up. There's got to be some shifts and transitions that you have to have to take place in your life.

And sometimes in the beginning of the year, everything, some people say everything that could go wrong does go wrong. I'm not talking about that, but I'm talking about when you are faced with some of the things that oppose that, which has been promised to you that what you're playing for all of those things. What are you gonna do with it? But we're going to gain momentum this year. Are we gonna stop now? It's a man when 2021 come, That's gonna be my year when february 1st comes and now by time you hear this, you're gonna be in february because I'm probably not putting this out before february. But even with february, when March comes, it's gonna be my year. No, it's not going to be your year tomorrow, it's not gonna be your year next month, it's not gonna be your year any other time, It's your year right now, maximize your now, maximize your now right now and continue to produce the momentum that is needed in order to yield the results that are connected to the greatness that's inside of you that are connected to the purpose that is inside of you that are connected to the essence of your creation.

Be blessed. Yeah. Mm. Can you identify any areas in your life where stagnation is manifesting now? I know some of you might say no, I can't. I want us to look at stagnation for what it really is. Some people have identified stagnation as something that's not growing or that's not producing. I don't believe that stagnation to me stagnation can also be that yes, we're growing. Yes, we're producing however, were growing and producing in a manner that's disrespectful to the purpose and the greatness that resides inside of us and listen, we all have areas where we can identify that? We could be doing a lot veteran, there's greater potential in those areas than we are experiencing. And guess what I have a tool that will help you begin to experience transformation in those areas of stagnation in your life. And that tool is called from stagnation of transformation.
